“Throwing yourself at another person isn’t romance, it’s football.”

So yeah, let’s talk about something else besides anime and my plans for taking over the world posting my mental lint, and what does any self respecting denizen of the blogosphere talk about besides their nerdy habits?
.
Hint: It’s neither politics or sex.
.
Webcomics are more or less ubiquitous these days, whether you’re in it for the Sunday funnies type or more comic or manga inspired material. The internet being what it is, it’s resulted in a dearth of people drawing things who shouldn’t be drawing things at all, or writing these things. Connoisseurs would tell you that there are excellently drawn webcomics with poor writing (or just horribly cliched) and poorly drawn webcomics with excellent writing (See Achewood or xkcd). Most range somewhere in that vaguely defined middle area which translates into there being something for everybody, including those who like drawn porn.
.
Suffice it to say, if there’s a niche, there’s a comic somewhere for it. There are a bunch of “lists” out there that rate webcomics, so if you’re looking for something random, you might wish to check those out. Here, however, are a few of my perennial favorites and guilty pleasures, along with some other suggestions (Also check out M. Nicolai’s webcomic repository):
.
xkcd: Sort of the science nerd’s webcomic, makes fun of everything from the internet to romance.
Perry Bible Fellowship: Surrealist black humor, or black surrealist humor? Or neither? This strip’s awesome and is worth a look, if it’s not exactly for those who are easily offended.
Applegeeks: More of an exercise in awesome drawing skills than anything, but the authors like to sneak in jokes and actual story on occasion.
Questionable Content: A slice of life story about a post-college indie boy and the people around him, although it’s also more of an exercise in art. Good source for quotes too!
Penny Arcade: The gaming nerd’s comic, filled with derision, irony, and satire.

I was going to put a link to webcomics I recommended, but it would have just been Achewood and PBF. I don’t know who it was that set the bar so low for webcomics, but I’m willing to bet there was an AOL Hometown address involved. There’s potential, but they have a long way to go.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to my “World War Hulk”. In this one he beats up the Earth.
