Recent-ish Suggestions: Heroic Age and Kimikiss pure rouge

More anime suggestions from me, in the form of little blurbs and whatnot. Today’s selections are Heroic Age, a sort of space opera show w/giant monsters duking it out, and Kimikiss pure rouge, a high school slice of life/romance following three childhood friends and their (mostly) separate love triangles.
.
Also an aside in the form of me noting that I’m starting to work on my long on hiatus anime articles. Still have to a bunch of work on them, but look forward to me rambling about Heat Guy J and King of Bandits Jing in the nearish future.

Yeah, that's Jupiter. It's also blowing up.

Heroic Age:
What do you get when you cross space operas with giant monsters beating the ever-loving tar out of each other and everything else in the vicinity? Heroic Age apparently, which manages to combine excellent space combat with space drama with giant monsters who kick the shit out of anything, including planets. The story itself and the background info is pretty interesting for once, and the character development is pretty amazing, so I won’t go too deeply into spoilers, but I will say that while the action is great, it’s the characters who make the show really worth watching. The soundtrack is also amazing, and if you like orchestral music at all you should really check it out (it’s released on two separate OST collections, and shouldn’t be hard to find on the net).

Shot of a number of the main characters.

Kimikiss pure rouge:
The diametric opposite of Heroic Age, Kimikiss is a satisfying genre piece about high schoolers and high school romance. Lots of drama, romantic scenes, and best of all, almost no fanservice. Given that it’s a romance/drama, character development is absolutely essential to the show and it delivers strongly on that front without too many deus ex plot shovings to keep things moving. The momentum for the show is largely provided by the characters and their interactions, which is a very good thing in a drama/romance as well.
